There has been some confusion lately over the release dates of IMG. For the last several years we’ve followed a monthly format for the magazine, with July/August and January/February being combined issues.
Due to the sometimes sluggish nature of the Mac gaming industry, it usually takes five weeks to put together a proper issue of Inside Mac Games. This is due in no small part to the amount of content in each magazine, which has grown substantially over the last year and a half. Obviously, this does not fit well with a monthly structure, and tends to cause plenty of confusion when the ‘October’ issue ships in the first week of November.
Many readers have asked “Why is my December MacAddict already at my door when IMG is still on its October issue?” Print publications have lead time measured in months, so a magazine that is released in November (and labeled December), was probably written in August or September. IMG’s lead time is around 3 weeks, so what you read in IMG every month is very current, usually no more than 3 weeks old.
For these reasons we’ve recently decided to move to a numbered system, where each issue is released 5 weeks apart. There will still be 10 full issues every year, packed with the same great material you’ve come to expect, and more. We strongly feel that this is the best way to keep IMG’s content growing, without affecting the release date structure. This will not affect any current subscription, everyone will still get the 10 issues they subscribed for.

This month marks the Third installment of the first ever IMG Trivia Contest! Anyone with a subscription to IMG can play, and those that answer the questions correctly will likely be winners.
